So there was a new Sonic Channel Art posted featuring Silver and PRINCESS ELISE?!?! …. I love it. This improved Elise’s design by 500%, she looks great and finally fits the sonic setting. There is also a little story that goes with this image where basically Elise is doing Ice Skating in memory of her late parents (so that’s still canon) and silver helps her practice and over come her anxiety and emotions to perform. 

Its a simple little story but its cute and warms the heart. But the very ending seems to give the implication that Soleana still exists in some capacity? This is huge because it shows Sega and Sonic Team are coming to terms with their mistakes and accepting 06 for what it is, part of sonic history and (maybe) canon. I am one of those fans that thinks there is some really good stuff in 06, it just needed more time and another draft. 

I do not think Elise is ever gonna come back in a major way but, if she showed up like this as a background character or something…. I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t be kinda happy.
